Haik-roo, Too

Sitting at the kitchen table after work, greeting my dog good evening, I was inspired to craft a haik-roo:

puppy licking beard:
a hint of genuine love
or lunch residue?

A Haik-roo for Gracie

soft whines and sad eyes,
deep panting fur at bare foot--
good friend-dog is ill.

Over the past few days week our family pet, a loyal English Springer Spaniel, Gracie, has not been feeling well. I took her to the vet today for the second time in five days for some more tests. I'm sure she will be fine (eventually), it is just unfortunate to see her so out of sorts.
